Bruno's Sculpture Garden

Bruno Torf and his family moved to Marysville from Belgium to pursue his dream of creating a world class sculpture garden and art gallery. Never fond of selling his creations Bruno decided to create the garden amongst the tall ash trees in Marysville and open the garden to visitors. The theme of the garden takes in a strong international and at times humorous feel. Bruno has traveled the world extensively and this is very apparent in his works which are cleverly shaped into the Natural, Australian bush setting.

The garden is an excellent outing for the whole family as well as being an enjoyable cultural experience. You can find Bruno's Sculpture Garden at 51 Falls Road Marysville. Tel: 5963 3513.

Alexandra Timber Tramway & Museum

The Alexandra Timber Tramway & Museum offers visitors a glimpse of the forest history of Alexandra and the surrounding Rubicon Ranges. The mountains around Alexandra are among the most rugged in Australia, and up until the 1939 bushfires, horse-drawn trams, then steam and finally diesel locomotives had the task of hauling hundreds of tonnes of timber through the steep Rubicon Forest to Alexandra.

Preserving relics of an era before the advent of sealed roads and motor vehicles, when rails represented the only reliable means of transport, the museum's collection is housed in the original railway station buildings, and includes in its display the first diesel engine built in Victoria in 1935, the Kelly & Lewis.

The Museum is situated in Station Street, Alexandra and is open on the second Sunday of each month and runs steam, petrol and diesel locomotives on a 600 metre loop. Refreshments are available, sausage sizzle lunch, or undercover barbecues are also available. For enquiries phone 0427 509 988.
