Lake Mountain is Australia's premier Cross Country Ski Resort, only 120 km from Melbourne. At an altitude of 1520 metres the Resort achieves the closest consistent snow to Melbourne and Adelaide. The on mountain ski activities cater for experienced skiers and day visitors.

Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is rated as one of the three busiest Cross Country Ski Resorts in the world with its trail system offering skiers thirty nine kilometres of well marked trails, catering for beginners to advanced skiing levels. Our international standard ski network of loops and trails provides visitors with opportunities to experience the Mountain's unique sub alpine forest and views of the Victorian Alps.

Alternatively, visitors to Lake Mountain can enjoy one of the seven Toboggan runs. Tobogganing is a fun form of snow play the whole family can enjoy. Lake Mountain provides a number of runs of various gradients and locations within the Resort.

Accommodation is available at nearby Marysville situated 15 minutes from Lake Mountain Alpine Resort. This picture postcard town has 2000 beds available from an enticing choice of accommodation ranging from historic cottages, elegant B&Bs, Grand Guesthouses and modestly price motels.

Mountain Facilities:

Ski School

Lake Mountain Ski School has a wide variety of programs to suit all ages and abilities. Our internationally qualified instructors have years of experience enabling first time skiers to learn to ski but to also progress to more advanced styles and techniques.

Toboggan Runs

Seven Toboggan Runs of various gradients are located throughout the Resort and provide day visitors with an alternate snow play activity to cross country skiing.

Ski Patrol

Lake Mountain has a well equipped and fully qualified snow first aid and rescue service. The Patrol operates daily and can be recognised by their blue and yellow cross uniforms. The Ski Patrol base is situated at Gerraty's Car Park at the Summit.

Ski and Toboggan Hire

Hire facilities are available on mountain from Mountain Top Ski Hire at Gerraty's Car Park. A wide range of Ski, Toboggan and Clothing can be hired with Boutique sales also available. Alternatively, equipment and clothing hire is also available off mountain at nearby Marysville and Narbethong.

Mountain Top Kiosk

Situated at the summit, the cafe is open daily during the ski season providing a wide and varied range of food and beverages.
