One of Australia's great scenic mountain drives, the Black Spur, will lead you to the charming town of Marysville. Enjoy the hospitality of country B&Bs and take the short walk to Steavenson Falls and visit Lake Mountain - a winter resort that becomes a summer oasis.

Marysville is a sub-alpine resort town noted for its scenic attractions and many guesthouses. It is the wintertime base for the cross-country ski fields of Lake Mountain. Marysville is beautifully located amidst tree-laden mountains at a bracing elevation, and is especially attractive when the flowers are blooming in spring or shedding their leaves in autumn.

Steavenson Falls, is one of Victoria's highest cascading waterfalls and is a truly spectacular sight during the day and night.

Buxton is an ever expanding village that is surrounded by mountainous views, trees and rivers. It is situated 11km north of Marysville and the local pub is a favourite stopping point for bikers. If you're looking to throw in a line then you can pick-up all of your supplies at the well stocked bait and tackle shop.

Narbethong is the first township into Murrindindi entering from the Black Spur. It is only 90km from Melbourne and is the start of lush forest, rivers and farmlands providing the gateway to Marysville and beyond. You will find some beautiful accommodation here along with ski hire for Lake Mountain in the winter months.
